GUY GILCHRIST will always be known as “Jim Henson’s Cartoonist “, having created “The Muppets” comic strip (KFS) for newspapers around the world 1981-86, and having a leading role in Jim’s creative team on Muppet Babies, Fraggle Rock and Other Henson creations.

He also headed publishing and or Licensing for TMNT, Tom and Jerry, Looney Tunes, Tiny Toons, Pink Panther, and Disney. And the author of 50+ children’s books, two time Silver Reuben Award winner (NCS) and his Muppets work permanently en shrined in the Smithsonian in 1984. For 23 years, he also wrote and drew the Nancy comic strip (UFS)(Universal).

Nancy Silberkleit, daughter-in-law of Louis H. Silberkleit one of the founders of Archie Comics Publications, stepped into her role as Co-CEO of the company in 2009 with a vision that the comic book as a graphic novel is a valuable tool for developing literacy among first-time readers and instilling a love of reading for everyone. As a former public school educator, homemaker and mother, she knows the importance of learning to read and coined a personal motto that “Children+Comic Books=Reading, Knowledge and Confidence.”

DANNY FINGEROTH was the longtime editorial director of Marvel’s Spider-Man comics line and writer of comics featuring Spider-Man, Iron Man and other iconic characters. He’s the author of “Superman on the Couch: What Superheroes Really Tell Us About Ourselves and Our Society” and “Disguised as Clark Kent: Jews Comics and the Creation of the Superhero.”

Danny is a consultant to Will Eisner Studios and to the “Marvel: Universe of Super Heroes” exhibition, currently at the Franklin Institute in Philadelphia. Danny’s book, “A Marvelous Life: The Amazing Story of Stan Lee,” will be published by St. Martin’s Press in November. Danny has spoken and taught on comics-related topics at Columbia University, the Smithsonian Institution and many other venues. For more:

Thom Bulman is Rochester NY Native now residing in Cortland NY. Celebrity tattoo artist , actor and avid toy collector who is widely-known for his appearance on season 9 of spike/paramount’s INK MASTER. Thom has over a decade of tattoo experience under his belt along with 35 plus years of collecting all things pop-culture. Ig handle: @bulman_tattoons. BATMOBILE (1966) – Holy Hotrod Batman!  For those who grew up when the original BATMAN series was on TV, or those who grew up watching the subsequent re-runs of this famous TV show – this was the very first BATMOBILE we were exposed to – and for that reason this version will always be “THE” BATMOBILE to the legions of fans of the dark knight!

This event is free and open to the public. We will have video game demos by Rochester Game Developers Group ( and we are excited to be partnering with A Gamers Nostalgia who will be running our video game tournaments.

We are also excited to partner with The Rochester Museum & Science Center to host the finals on the dome of the Strasenburgh Planetarium. Yeah that’s right. We are playing the finals on the dome of the friggin’ planetarium. Let’s do this!

Geek Comedy Hour/Superhero Roast

Super Comics (comedians, not the books) Malcolm Whitfield, Chris Thompson, Chris Hasenauer & Guests will be bringing one funny hour of jokes via Cosplay Battle Roast. Comedians will dress as their favorite Cosplay characters to battle it out until only one remains “Rochester’s Super City Roast Battle Champion”.
